UK internet service provider (ISP) Zen Internet have recently launched a new broadband package aimed at people with low monthly usage.
It’s charged at £17.99 for a 2GB cap with lots of additional features such as static IP. It’s exactly the same as their existing Zen 8000 Active package, just with a 2GB [...]

New MaxDSL record
August 9th, 2006 · 1 Comment
My router has now been synced with the local exchange for 171 hours. That’s over a week without a single disconnection/re-sync. I can’t really grumble with MaxDSL with figures like that. It also beats my record for the longest continuous up-time since changing to MaxDSL back in April

I’ve read comments over the last few months about people suffering with low SNR on their ADSL line. Some people have reported success by removing the ringwire from their BT master socket. I’ve never tried this idea before because I’d heard that the only real benefit was on the older styled star (or spur) telephone [...]

ZyXEL routers get Max DSL validation
July 14th, 2006 · No Comments
If anyone is looking for recommendations for a decent router that works with Max DSL then consider having a ZyXEL router on your shortlist. Below is an extract from UK ISP Andrews and Arnold on these routers. I’ve got a ZyXEL Prestige 660HW-61 and does seem to do well on Max DSL. [...]
