I have a Garmin Nuvi 255. I bought it for Europe.
I bought a 16G Micro SD card so I could load multiple maps onto it, but the Nuvi will not load the maps onto the card.
My PC recognises the card as a memory device, but when I tried to load the maps on via the card slot on my PC, the card still would not be recognised.
Could you tell me where I am going wrong please?
Thank you.

The Europe SD card should cover exactly what Italy and France does. It's possible the individual country cards cover slightly more detail for specific places like The Vatican, etc. so you could always contact Garmin to double check map coverage before buying.

I bought a 255WT about 9 months ago. On the whole it performs quite well although you cannot trust the projected journey times (it is ALWAYS optimistic - my experience is that TomTom do a much better job of estimating trip duration). Also the route navigation can be a bit hit and miss, more than once the unit has directed me off a motorway to go round the junction round-about only to immediately rejoin the motorway! It is a shame that Garmin does not include firmware updates within the original purchase price.... Once it gets to the point of needing an update I will ditch the unit and probably buy a TomTom.

Thank you. Would I be able to access Italy and France directly from the same Europe card when I insert it? I don't want to have to download maps onto my nuvi and I realise that Europe is pretty huge.
