One of my readers spotted that an article I wrote about Linux Command For Newbies contains an invalid link. It appears that the original website I linked to no longer exists.
I’ve found some additional Linux resources which you may find useful. Some of these links are a few years old but still contain useful information:
Linux Command line tutorials for newbies
The Linux Newbie Administrator Guide has a wealth of information. A good place to start would be Linux Shortcuts and Commands.

Hey Dean,
You’re a software dev right?
I am in the process of learning python for no good reason (I just like to learn)… do you have any recommendations for programming tutorials outside of say python.org?
Eventually I will move on to other languages (and have to learn C++ and C# in school in Spring).

Hi Chris,
I’m mostly a Java developer. I don’t know much about Python.
I found these in Google which you can look into further:

Sweet! Thanks for lookin for me, Dean, I’ll add those to my list of nightly reads (Yes, I practice nightly, til I get either too tired or too drunk to continue).
How was starting in java?

Java was fairly easy to pick up. I started using Java in 2000. I’d been using Visual Basic for 5 years prior to that, so the transition over to Java wasn’t that difficult.
Once you’ve learned a few languages I find it gets easier to learn new ones. Of course there are always more obscure languages that take a while to figure out!

And now I am ahead of the recent commenter list! mwahaha.
Thanks again for all the help, I am continually impressed with the patience of the community as I am always confused.
