I’ve been a fan of Flickr for a while now. I noticed today that you can now receive email notifications when someone comments on one of your photos, or when one of your contacts uploads new photos.
Up until now, I’ve had to browse to my Flickr page on a daily basis to see if anyone has commented on any photos or added new photos. Now you can receive email notifications when either of these events occur. You can either choose to receive an immediate email notification, or a daily or weekly digest. There is also an option not to receive any email notifications if you’re not interested.
To setup email notifications you need to go to your Flickr account email preferences page, and then look for the section titled ‘Receiving activity notification emails’, and then click on the Edit link. The setup page looks as follows:

This addition is very welcome and adds another feature to an already great product.
