  Dean,

  I accidentally ran my Vista beta as Vista Business and the key trick above apparently doesn’t work for that. Is there a way to get a Vista Business Key?

  I had a look at some of the comments from the original link. The author says that the keys should work on all Vista releases, so I presume that includes Vista Business but I can’t be sure.

  I guess the only way to prove that would be for you to uninstall Vista Business and try reinstalling Vista again.

  If you installed Vista on a separate partition that should be relatively easy, but if you’ve installed Vista onto your main partition, thus overwriting XP, then that could me more difficult if you don’t have all your data backed up.

  The same with me I brought a laptop for christmas at best buy and its supposed to come with windows vista business and everytime I type in the product key on the bottom of the computer it just logs me off and tells me I typed in the wrong thing. Please help

  The keys you obtained from the COA on your laptop are not the ones you use to activate – these are retail keys and you need to activate them by phone in the event you need to format your machine.

  I just got my laptop and went to write a paper and windows keeps telling me that I need to enter the 25 digit key code. I’ve looked around on the web and some people say its on the bottom.   Looks as though I’m in the same boat as others here as regards to the product key thing. I have been bought a laptop as a gift and the product key underneath is wrong. Any ideas please ?
