If anyone is looking for recommendations for a decent router that works with Max DSL then consider having a ZyXEL router on your shortlist. Below is an extract from UK ISP Andrews and Arnold on these routers. I’ve got a ZyXEL Prestige 660HW-61 and does seem to do well on Max DSL. I compared it to a BT Voyager 2110 and found it would sync at a higher rate and it seems to hold the line better when the SNR drops low.
I also recommend you check out the Andrews and Arnold web site. They’ve got lots of useful information on Max DSL and on how the BT BRAS profile works.
Perhaps the most important feature of the P660R is that it uses the TI chipset broadband modem internally. Compared to many other makes of broadband modem chipset, this has lower latency, and better handling of poor lines. We have found it can significantly increase reliability and sync speed on Max lines.

It is wonderful to know that ZyXEL is always trying its best to find a solution to support their latest partners software such as Microsoft.
FYI:Currently, Vista is not supported on any of ZyXEL’s Client Adapters however this does not mean that they will not work on Windows Vista!
